Abstract:
Starting from the origins of traditional Chinese landscape painting and gardens, this research traces the connection between landscape tours and garden design, and takes the course of Picturesque Scenery — Scenic Area Planning and Design as an example to explore a new teaching method. Firstly, at the “landscape painting interpretation and plane translation” stage, it allows students to establish the relationship between gardens and paintings. Secondly, at the “present experience of entering the painting” stage, it enables students to complete the physical and mental experience of the site with the “Seven Views Method”. Finally, at the “planning of entering painting” stage, it guides students to borrow the site scenery resources to create picturesque scenery and express the planning in traditional landscape paintings, such as geography, vertical scrolls, and album pages. It is hoped that students could inherit and carry forward the positive genes of the traditional culture and integrate them into modern gardening through the teaching of this course.
