Abstract:
Green urban design is an important model of contemporary urban design development, characterized by ecological resilience, sustainability and climate adaptability. Among the major bay areas in the world, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area has distinctive features in natural, historical, cultural and economic development, as well as diverse and innovative green urban design practices. This research sorts out the important impacts of representative theories of modern and contemporary urban development on the origin and connotation of green urban design, and further clarifies the definition of green urban design. Using the methods of empirical research and system construction, it summarizes and induces the characteristics of representative green urban design practices in the Greater Bay Area, puts forward the green urban design strategy system featuring “landscape security, regional collaboration, climate adaptation, functional composite, appropriate scale, and organic growth”, and points out specific technical methods and application directions under each strategy, so as to provide a useful reference for the construction of high-quality human settlement environment and ecological civilization in the new era.
