Abstract: Landscape Design at BFU occupies an important position in China's modern landscape architecture industry, and is the outstanding representative of Chinese landscape architects responding to the national needs and serving the society and the people. Taking the early period of the founding of the People's Republic of China,the reform and opening up, and the construction of ecological civilization as three typical periods, and taking the representative design practices of several generations of planning and design faculty of School of Landscape Architecture at Beijing Forestry University in Hangzhou, Shenzhen, Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei Province as examples, this paper reviews the "BFU phenomenon" of landscape design in the past 70 years, which is the result of the achievements in the construction of high-quality landscape architecture, which is demonstrating, leading,and serving the needs of the changing times. Looking forward to the future, the faculties of BFU Landscape Design will continue to realize the people's yearning for a better life as the fundamental goal, and continue to make innovations and breakthroughs in the education, research and practice of landscape architecture, to serve the major national strategies and to build a harmonious coexistence of human and nature living environment.
