Abstract: With time as clue, this paper sorts out the academic thought development process of Meng Zhaozhen,an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering a Chinese landscape architect, and a professor at Beijing Forestry University. It summarized and reviewed Mr. Meng Zhaozhen's important contributions in teaching,theory and planning and design. It studied Mr. Meng Zhaozhen's comprehensive research and inheritance of Ji Cheng, a great sages and craftsmen of the Ming Dynasty and his work Yuan Ye. This paper clarifies that Mr. Meng Zhaozhen can be regarded as another great sage and craftsman in the field of Chinese landscape architecture after Ji Cheng.
