he Combination of Scientific Connotation and Artistic Appearance—The Planning and Construction of the Rose Garden at Beijing Botanical Garden

he Rose Garden at Beijing Botanical Garden (BBG) is the first multifunction Rosarium in China which gained the award of "Rose Garden Excellence" by WFRS in 2015. The paper elucidated its history, ideas of design, subarea of types, topography, plant combination, paths and squares, and landscape ornaments and analyzed the characteristic and advantage of their landscape design and construction. Besides displaying, the garden has the functions of germplasm resource conservation, public education, research and international communication as well. Then the ideas of the development in the future to improve the contents and maintenance is put forward. It intends to provide the references for the planning and design of Rose Gardens in China.
