Reflection on “The Group Course of Urban Design” of Landscape Architecture Major in Architectural Colleges

  • The aim of the landscape architecture is to connect human with land and make them live in harmony.Human activities include the most important spatial expressions of current human settlements:city.Taking the city as the background for current teaching is one of the important directions in landscape architecture education.Our landscape architecture discipline is rooted in traditional architecture colleges.Urban design course is one of the main courses in the undergraduate education system.After many years in teaching for organizations and classroom teaching,we find the current problem is that the knowledge framework is not clear and the teaching objectives are mixed.Through investigation and research,this paper tries to start from the cognitive law of "from shallow to deep,from point to face,step by step".It puts forward to build "idea-methods-technique" as the target system in "The Group Course of Urban Design" teaching system.This paper puts forward improvement strategy from the integration of three aspects of specific curriculum organization:knowledge units,knowledge framework continuation,and key unit cycle.
