Ecological Teaching System and the Enlightenment of Landscape Architecture Postgraduate Training in Universities in Western Countries

Ecological knowledge and eco-wisdom have become one of the basic supports for education in modern landscape architecture.Skills in ecological planning and design also belong to an important part of professional landscape architects training.This paper selects 14 postgraduate teaching systems of famous universities in western countries as research cases.On the one hand,it comprehensively compares the specific requirements of credit,form and content of their ecological courses,reflecting the importance of ecological education in the system.On the other hand,through the statistical analysis of the research topic trends and the changes in the proportion of eco-related dissertations over the years,it accounts for the development trend of dissertations as a significant way to train ecological researchers.Based on that some optimization suggestions are proposed for the postgraduate eco-education in landscape architecture of today's China,aiming to build a postgraduate eco-education system to adapt to the needs of environment-friendly transformation and professionals training.
