Chinese Traditional Garden Flourishing in Shenzhen: In Honor of the 40th Anniversary of Shenzhen Special Economic Zone

On the 40th anniversary of Shenzhen Special Economic Zone, the author writes the article to express his sincere congratulations. The paper briefly reviews the practice of three generations of landscape architects led by Professor Sun Xiaoxiang from Beijing Forestry University in Shenzhen. Unity of man and nature as the general principle of philosophy, Fairy Lake Botanical Garden and Splendid China select appropriate sites and are constructed properly, which become modern gardens with Chinese characteristics. Shenzhen is also a significant industrial-academic-research base where BLY Landscape and Landscape Architecture Journal are established and developed. It is emphasized to inherit and carry on the tradition of Chinese landscape architecture in the new period and make timely progress to join the construction of Shenzhen with united efforts and realize the Chinese Dream.
