Advance with the Times in Cultural Inheritance & Innovation: Significance of “Fairy Lake” & “Red Cloud Garden” to Shenzhen Landscape Construction

To commemorate the 40th anniversary of the founding of Shenzhen Special Economic Zone in 2020, this research, through document literature and field investigation, puts forward that the cases of “Fairy Lake” and “Red Cloud Garden” are of great significance to the landscape construction in Shenzhen in the early years. The two not only embody the essence of Chinese landscape architecture over thousands of years, but also prove and summarize the classical landscape theory by practice. The literati landscape architecture laid the foundation of Shenzhen landscape construction, and their innovative ideas and techniques materialized the spirit of the special economic zone. The national characteristics of these cases still have important value in the landscape construction of the special economic zone.
