Traditional Villages Need “Weak Landscape”

The author takes the traditional village as the research object of landscape design and practice, analyzes the differences between the traditional village landscape and the general rural landscape and the native landscape, and proposes a theory that traditional villages need weak landscapes and defines the concept of weak landscape. At the same time, the author elaborates how to construct the weak landscape in the process of traditional village landscape practice from three aspects of renovation design, transformation design, and introduction of moderate design and expounds the applicability of the three types of landscape construction.
