Abstract
Rik de Visser cultivated a strong interest in large-scale projects when he was a student in Wagningen. Over the years, he has participated in and presided over many noted large landscape projects, such as Marker Wadden and Volgermeer polder. In these cases, he has shown that natural processes and human needs can be well integrated in large-scale projects. His main working methods include superimposed graph analysis, and cooperating with experts of different subject backgrounds. He has also stressed that in addition to the quality of the design, communication with decision makers is also a key to the success of a project.
