Abstract
In order to establish the cultural service index system of modern parks in Shanghai and explore their cultural service values and spatial distributions, this paper sets up an evaluation index system of cultural service for Shanghai modern parks with the SPICED index framework based on the Millennium Ecosystem Assessment(MA). Through collecting and analyzing the public assessment of cultural service with the independently developed PPGIS APP, it conducts correlation analysis of different types of cultural services, cultural services and users, cultural services and park scenic spot space in Fuxing Park. The results show that as a modern park, Fuxing Park’s cultural services are mainly reflected in leisure and recreation, and its historical heritage value is not well recognized by the public. The spatial distribution of cultural services is different; there are some correlations between the park's scenic space types and cultural services; and there are positive and negative correlations between some cultural services. Based on the results, we put forward some ideas on the strategy of modern park renewal and development. The research uses the PPGIS technology to improve public participation of modern park protection in Shanghai, and creatively applies cultural service evaluation to spatial planning.
