Restoration and Reconstruction of the Coastal Zone After Typhoon "Mangkhut": Yantian Waterfront Boardwalk

Yantian Waterfront Boardwalk is an important public space in Shenzhen's "Mountain – Sea – City Integration" plan, and a significant section of the Golden Coast in Yantian District. After being destroyed by Typhoon "Mangkhut", the boardwalk was reconstructed following the principles of ecological restoration and disaster prevention. Upon reconstruction, the boardwalk enables tourists to be closer to nature while guaranteeing the passage of biological migration. Through landscape design that conforms to nature, the boardwalk succeeds in connecting the separated urban space with the natural scenery, creating a charming and resilient coastal leisure coastline.
