Abstract:
As a leading university in the field of green infrastructure planning and practice,the University of Massachusetts(UMass) has its own characteristics in green infrastructure theory,and practical teaching.This research first summarizes the characteristics of the professional curriculum of Landscape Architecture at UMass,discusses the curriculum content related to the green infrastructure.And then the research analyzes the curriculum related to green infrastructure based on 5 main courses (Landscape Pattern and Process,Landscape Architecture and Green Urbanism,Sustainable Green Infrastructure Planning and Design,Novel Ecosystem Services,and Studio Ⅸ).Afterwards,the research analyzes four aspects of the teaching characteristics in UMass.including in-depth and in-breath theoretical study,case study in multi-scales,real project-based planning practice and quantitative performance evaluation.The teaching characteristics of the university's green infrastructure can provide a reference for the implementation of green infrastructure curriculum content in China's landscape architecture education.
