Abstract:
Social sustainability has become an important issue of global urbanization. Social infrastructure is the spatial basis for achieving this sustainability. It is necessary to re-recognize the concept of urban landscape in the teaching of undergraduate Landscape Architecture Design courses, and explore new strategies from a social infrastructure perspective. In the undergraduate teaching practice of Urban Landscape Design in Harbin Institute of Technology, social sustainability has served as an entry point. Urban landscape is seen as an important social infrastructure. Students need to study the relationship between behavior and the environment in the field, explore new concepts and patterns, and respond to social realities through design.
