Abstract:
As a pioneer city of China’s reform and opening up, Shenzhen has been serving as the benchmark for the development of Chinese landscape architecture. It has developed from a fishing village into an international metropolis over the past 40 years, and its urban landscape construction deserves further study as well as the rapid economic development. The authors elaborate on the development history and practices of modern landscape in Shenzhen by combining with their own experiences. They introduce the principles and methods to deal with the contradiction between modernity and regional culture, expound specific technical methods of modern landscape design through analyzing the landscape design case of Dongjiaotou Street Park. From a future-oriented perspective, they point out that landscape design in Shenzhen needs to solve complex problems in the future with interdisciplinary technologies.
