Abstract:
The forest culture and management strategy adopted for ecological restoration in Guangyang Island is supported by relevant theories of such disciplines as ecology, plant ecology, forestry and landscape architecture, which aims to achieve the “forest aesthetics”goal of mutual dependence and harmonious coexistence between human and forest. In view of the problems faced by forest vegetation in Guangyang Island, this research, following the principle of respecting nature and relevant Nature-based Solutions(NbS), puts forward the three measures of forest conservation, forest increment and forest appearance quality improvement, and summarizes twelve steps of forest culture and management including “quality, appearance, pattern, landscape, species and quantity determination, and tree selection, digging, transportation, plantation, recovery and maintenance”, with a view to basically restoring the the network-type forest pattern featuring the interweaving of “large substrates, multiple corridors and small patches” in Guangyang Island, and accordingly presenting a verdant and vibrant Bayu forest ecological scenario.
