Abstract: The relationship between buildings and courtyards has been one of the most important research topics of architecture. Taking Tsinghua University Bajia Primary School as an example, this paper raises a new concept: buildings dance with courtyards, sums up three patterns of the courtyard layout and three patterns of courtyard design. Trying to create a campus environment where buildings dance with courtyards, the continuous and overall, multi-level and rich beauty, is the research goal.
