Abstract:
As the current environmental problems and design focus on evidence-based trend, it has practical significance to incorporate landscape performance into landscape architecture education. This paper introduced the background and related measures of bringing landscape performance into landscape architecture education in the US. Based on the syllabus, reading list, student works and instructor reflection of the teachers with the experience of landscape performance teaching, the characteristics, objectives and contents of the landscape performance curriculum were analyzed. Finally, the inspiration and implication of the American landscape performance teaching to Chinese landscape architecture were discussed.
