Abstract: As an applied discipline characterized by practices, the cultivation of student's design thinking and ability has always been an important goal of landscape architecture teaching. How to train students' design thinking and ability effectively through teaching has become a significant topic of landscape architecture education. Starting from the characteristics of design thinking, this article proposes a set of control modes and procedures for design teaching courses. Taking the park design course of the third grade of Tongji University for example, a teaching attempt on the training approach to landscape design thinking was carried out and discussed.
