Abstract:
Historical Urban Landscape is a new concept raised in the field of heritage conservation in the recent decade, and it has brought about endless discussions on its academic significance. From the academic perspective of the temporal-spatial process contained in cultural landscape, this paper sorts out the academic context of cultural landscape and the practical development of cultural landscape and historical urban landscape in heritage field, points out that Historical Urban Landscape has not gone beyond the academic category of cultural landscape, while many problems in the heritage field are related to the cognitive defects of the academic connotation of cultural landscape. Only by fully learning and absorbing the academic achievements of the cultural landscape can we effectively deal with the challenge of complex change in the man-land relations in the World Heritage practice process.
