Abstract: Memory Park at Hazelbrook village is a local park that was severely impacted by the highway upgrade works during which the park was used as a works depot and storage area. Restoration of Memory Park therefore formed a significant part of the Great Western Highway upgrade between the villages of Woodford and Hazelbrook. The very successful outcome of the park restoration completed in 2014 provides an excellent example of how road infrastructure projects can benefit local communities through the creation of high quality public open space.
