Abstract: The paper expounds the design process of transforming seven quarries into quarry gardens in the 12th China (Nanning) International Garden Expo. It describes the strategies of coping with different quarries, the modes of matching the design with the site landforms and Genius Loci, and the means of vegetation restoration, human intervention, and the organization of tour routes. The design has great demonstration significance for ecological restoration and re-utilization of abandoned quarries.
